Following her undergraduate degree, Hannah has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds as a Social Worker with Wiltshire Council.

Hannah works with individuals to empower and support them through difficult seasons of life. She has also made the most of opportunities to undertake training to improve her own skills and has been able to support students who are on placement or starting their own degree courses.

Hannah has had the opportunity to talk on her area of research interest (violence against women and girls) at a conference facilitated by Soroptimist International Bournemouth and Bournemouth University and is developing a model of community engagement that will support Wiltshire Council and enable individuals to access support before they reach crisis.

Hannah says: “Since coming to Bournemouth University as a mature student, after never believing I would go to university at all, I am now a qualified social worker and post-graduate Master’s research student!”
