The perfect place to gather

Whether you’re meeting for a public talk or social event, we’re ready to help you. Free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and excellent audio-visuals come as standard. We also work with AccessAble to ensure that we meet the accessibility needs of your attendees.

Across our two campuses, our largest lecture theatre has a capacity of over 300, while our smaller seminar rooms can host groups of between 8 and 20 people.

All available venues can be hired for a full day (9am to 5pm) on weekdays, or for periods of four hours. Longer hire periods can be discussed, and certain buildings and facilities are available to hire during evenings and weekends. Please note that as a university we prioritise teaching therefore room availability can be limited during term time.

Kimmeridge House

Our largest (308-seat) lecture theatre is in Kimmeridge House along with two smaller lecture theatres and two seminar rooms, perfect for breakout sessions. The foyer space is ideal for registering visitors upon arrival.

The Fusion Building

The Fusion Building includes 27 new seminar rooms, three lecture theatres, rooftop terraces and numerous catering facilities, all topped with a glass-domed roof. The ground floor houses the main open dining area, which is surrounded by flexible agile seminar rooms.

This contemporary building offers a wide range of facilities including lecture theatres (105 seats and 60 seats), two large seminar rooms, three seminar rooms, three small meeting rooms and a registration/networking space.

Bournemouth Gateway Building

Home of the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences, this building offers a lecture theatre and seminar rooms close to the town centre and train station.

A prime location

Bournemouth has excellent transport links. BU’s town centre venues on our Lansdowne Campus (the Executive Business Centre and the Bournemouth Gateway Building) are a five-minute walk from the main coach and train stations.

Our other venues, such as Kimmeridge House and the Fusion Building, are on Talbot Campus, which can be reached from the town centre by car (only a 10-minute drive) and by the U1 university bus (available every 10 minutes during peak travel hours).

With its seven miles of sandy beach, Bournemouth is a brilliant location to visit all year round. All our venue facilities are within easy reach of the seafront and beach, which is ideal for guests seeking to decompress after an event, or for those wanting to take the conversation further over a drink and some food.
