The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) INSIGHT South West Central programme offers full-time or part-time research training through a research masters programme for health and social care professionals. The programme is co-hosted by the University of the West of England Bristol (UWE Bristol) and Bournemouth University.
From 2024-2027, the NIHR INSIGHT South West Central programme has funding to support:
- Thirty research masters studentships each year
- Full-and part-time study routes
- Dissertations with research active mentors
- A program of networking and engagement activities.
Students who are successful in gaining a studentship will be provided with tuition fees and a tax-free stipend at the UKRI rate. For 2024/2025, the stipend is £19,237 for full-time study and £9,619 for part-time study.

The closing date for applications for the research master's studentships commencing in September 2024 is 5pm on Wednesday 10 July 2024.
