The Met Office has issued weather warnings this week as Storm Ciaran could cause disruption to the local area. All students, staff and visitors are asked to take extra care when travelling to and from the university and while on campus during adverse weather.
We will work hard to ensure that BU’s Estate remains safe and we will try to keep the university campuses open for business whatever the weather.
In the event of disruption, please check for travel updates local to your area - often found through local media outlets - before leaving home and always follow local police travel advice.
Please note the university’s campuses remain open unless you are specifically told otherwise, and activities should continue as normal as long as it is safe to do so. We will only issue communications if there are any changes. Arrangements for 91 Preston Road in Yeovil will be communicated separately.
We will post any updates on BU’s social media channels, the BU website, Staff Intranet, email to all staff and students. You can also check the BU Information Line - 01202 968999 - for recorded updates. Please check at least one of these communications before setting off in the event of adverse weather.
Please refer to the Adverse Weather Policy for Staff or Students for further details of how adverse weather is managed.
