BU academics took on their students in a battle of the brains for a BBC Radio 4 quiz show, which will be broadcast on Monday 29 June.
The 3rd Degree pits a team of academics against a team of undergraduate students from their respective disciplines.
Staff and students from BU’s Psychology, Nursing, and Business and Management courses competed across general knowledge and specialist subjects, including a quickfire round and the Highbrow Lowbrow round which tested their knowledge of everything from art and history to TV and pop music.
Students also took on their lecturers in head-to-head rounds about their own subjects.
Hosted by comedian Steve Punt, the show was recorded in front of a live audience on Talbot Campus in February.
While at BU, Steve and the show’s producer David Tyler – who has produced programmes including Spitting Image and Dinnerladies – also took the time to speak to students from Nerve Media and MA Radio Production about their careers in the media.
The BU episode of The 3rd Degree will be broadcast for the first time at 3pm, Monday 29 June, on BBC Radio 4. It will be repeated on Saturday 4th July at 11pm and will be available to listen again through the BBC Sounds website and app.
