We are introducing a new 'e-permit' system to provide improved management and enforcement of our car parks.
From Tuesday 7 May, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology will be used to validate vehicles authorised to park in university car parks.
If you currently have a parking permit, you won't have to display a physical permit in your windscreen from the 7 May.
What you need to do now
You need to make sure your vehicle details are up to date on our student online permit system by Friday 3 May - failure to do so could result in a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) being issued.
You can register two vehicle registration plates, but only one registered vehicle is permitted to park on a BU car park at any one time.
University car parks will continue to be enforced by Britannia Parking until 4pm on Friday 3 May and you need to display your current paper permits in your windscreen until then.
