Bournemouth Borough Council introduced a new waste and recycling service in April 2017, which saw rubbish and recycling collections change to fortnightly collections on alternate weeks.
This means your general waste will be collected one week, and your recycling the following week - food wastage should go in the brown bins and will be collected every week.
Larger households e.g. with 5 or more residents, those with children in nappies and those who have a medical condition which generates extra waste, may request an assessment for an extra bins for general waste, recycling and food. Flats with communal bins will continue to have their household waste collected on a weekly basis and the council will review collections for these properties in the coming months. Further information and to request a food waste bin or extra rubbish bin assessment visit the Bournemouth Borough Council website.
