Following the events in London at the weekend, the government has announced a UK-wide one minute silence, to take place today at 11.00am. This silence will be in remembrance of those who lost their lives or were affected by the attack in London.
For staff and students wishing to participate, normal activities, lectures and meetings will be paused to enable the silence to take place.
In addition, a memorial is being held on Wednesday 7 June at 7.30pm in Bournemouth Square to pay tribute to the victims of the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester. All members of the public have been invited to light candles or lay flowers and join us in a minute's silence. Local community member, Carina Gordon said: "We also want to show that Bournemouth/Dorset along with other major cities in the U.K. this week, are standing together in unity and peace against these terror attacks and that we embrace our local diverse culture and will not be divided".
