“Students said – through the award winning feedback tool SimOn – that they wanted improved campus facilities.”

This June, we opened the Fusion Building, with nearly 6,000m2 of academic space, 27 seminar rooms, three lecture theatres, research space, a 24 station PC laboratory, as well as roof-top terraces and catering facilities.
The Fusion Building accommodates a unique blend of formal learning and informal collaboration space, topped with a glass dome roof, allowing maximum natural light into the building.
As part of our £2million IT refurbishment and improvement plan, the building has also been decked out with the most up to date audio visual equipment giving you the creative spaces to facilitate your learning.
SUBU President Daniel Asaya said: “The building provides students with a modern, transparent building that encompasses a whole range of academic rooms and more, giving students the tools to the ultimate studying experience. I'm really proud that students were consulted throughout the project – my predecessors sat on the project board, in order to put forward the student’s point of view.”
Together with the new Student Centre and Bournemouth University International College, and the plans for the new Gateway Developments, BU is evolving into a modern, greener and more user-friendly campus.
