The Festival of Design & Technology (FoDT) is an annual exhibition of final year projects by Design, Engineering and Creative Technology students. Visited by industry & commerce, friends & family, schools & colleges, the Festival has become the go-to event for talent scouts to spot tomorrow’s designers and for teachers and careers advisers to inspire the next generation.
This year we are giving all BU students an opportunity to be the first to see the Design & Engineering students’ exhibition spaces on Thursday 16 June from 1.00pm – 2.00pm in on our Talbot Campus. Head to Kimmeridge House to collect your free cookie and find out more!
The Festival is open to the public from Friday 17 June – Monday 20 June so why not bring the family along on Saturday? Learn more about the students; view their work and see some inspirational design and prototypes which take into consideration issues such as market need, function, engineering, sustainability, style and aesthetics. The exhibition features student work from Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Business Management, Design Engineering, Engineering, Games Programming, Games Technology, Music & Audio Technology and Music & Sound Production Technology. Students from Digital Media Design will also have their work on show.
You’ll get to meet students like Lucy Edwards, BSc (Hons) Product Design whose product is a wireless page turner for pianists. Lucy explains more about her design and how the festival gives her the opportunity to really showcase her work in her undergraduate blog post.
If you’d like to see Lucy’s project and visit outside of the student preview event, register online for the Festival of Design & Technology.
