Over 350 local people turned out in force on Sunday 20 March at the Sainsbury’s Bournemouth Sport Relief Mile which was organised by Bournemouth University, BH Live and AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust. Milers of all ages were sponsored to walk or run themselves proud across Littledown Park.
Along with Sport Relief, we would like to thank everyone that took part and to those who made the event possible including; The Worshipful The Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth, Liz Yelling, BH Live, AFC Bournemouth, Sainsbury’s Boscombe, Christchurch Scout Group, Fonix LED, LUL-Med Services and all of our volunteers.
The day was a massive success with friends and families joining together to go the extra mile for Sport Relief 2016.
Michael Barry from SportBU said, “It was a fantastic day - watching the community come together to support such a great cause was brilliant! We feel very proud knowing that the money raised here today will help people living unimaginably tough lives right here in Dorset, across the rest of the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.”
Sport Relief would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has donated money or given their time to go the extra mile.
