This is a guide to the normal entry requirements, assuming you’ve followed the Ghanaian education system. An admissions tutor will study your application, so make sure you include your academic background and personal information when you apply.
Entry requirements vary depending on what sort of course you’re coming to BU to study.
- BU International College Foundation Certificates
You can undertake a Foundation Certificate before going on to an undergraduate course if you have 12 years of schooling in Ghana and have completed a Senior Secondary School Certificate. You will also need to have achieved a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 5.0, or SSSCE English grade 1-6. - Undergraduate courses
You can apply to study a Bachelor's degree from year one if you have a West African Higher School Certificate/GCE A level and have completed your 13 years of schooling. - Top-up courses
You can apply for a Top-up course if you have a Higher National Diploma (1993 onwards). - Postgraduate courses
You need to have a Bachelor's degree from a State University or Private University with accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) to apply for a postgraduate taught course with BU. - Research programmes
You need any postgraduate degree to be considered for a BU research programme.
