BU is here to help if you require financial support. This could be helping you resolve problems with your funding provider, for example Student Finance England or the NHS, help with managing your money, or you are in financial difficulty and require additional funding.
Visit our Financial Support pages for further information on bursaries and scholarships, along with specific guidance about financial support funding available from BU, including the Small Emergency Grant, Emergency Funding, Placement and Professional Opportunities Fund and the BU Financial Support Fund.
Plus, the BU Laptop Support Fund, BU DSA Support Fund and placement year funding. Along with external funding guidance and the alternative guide to postgraduate funding. You can also find out about the loans and grants available for NHS courses, Disabled Students' Allowances, funding for students with children and dependant adults, as well as additional funding support for international students.
We’ve also put some support information together about Universal Credit for students, along with guidance around gambling awareness.

Funding
If you are receiving funding from Student Finance England and you are continuing to study in the next academic year, you will need to wait until you are invited to apply online for funding. Depending on your circumstances some continuation students will be assessed automatically without the need to apply. Continuation students who do not have their assessments made automatically will be contacted during March and will be asked to apply online.
However, this may be different for other awarding bodies so please ensure you check with them as soon as possible. Your future entitlement for funding may be affected if you have had more than one year of previous degree study. Call Student Finance England on 0300 100 0607 for further information.
