Applications are now open to all BU students at all levels of study to participate in either volunteering or research activities with Love the Oceans. This may be of specific interest to students studying Film, Media Production, Ecology, and Environmental Sciences courses.
There are three different sessions available in Mozambique, each are for five weeks:
- Session 1: 20 April – 25 May 2025
- Session 2: 25 May – 29 June 2025
- Session 3: 29 June – 3 August 2025.
As a Love The Oceans Field Assistant you will form an essential part of their team. During your five weeks, you would support the following activities:
- Megafauna surveys
- Fisheries research
- Aerial surveys
- Coral reef surveys
- Ocean trash research
- Teaching and painting at the local schools
- Swimming lessons.
Participants will have the opportunity to tailor their activities to include conducting research and/or filming where applicable.
Turing Scheme funding is available to support BU students with the costs associated in undertaking this activity.
