Bournemouth University (BU) swimming scholar and Sports Management student Leo McCrea will be competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Leo has been training with the BU High Performance Team. As part of SportBU strength and conditioning coaches have also been helping Leo to optimise his performance in the pool.
Leo was motivated to take up swimming at only six years old when his older sister also took up the sport. He was later inspired by the British former Paralympian swimmer, Ellie Simmonds who competed in the S6 events in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, winning two gold medals for Great Britain.
Leo will be competing in the SB5 100m breast stroke on the August 30 and the SM6 200m individual medley on the September 1.
