When you register and enrol as a student at BU, you are asked to accept the terms of the Student Agreement. This includes agreeing to pay your tuition fees on time. BU has a number of policies and processes which govern fair and transparent debt management. You can find these and the Student Agreement on the important information webpage.
For the 2023/24 academic year, we have updated our process for managing student tuition fee debt, in order to make it clearer. The main changes include the opportunity for students who have not paid their tuition fees to meet with our Finance team earlier in the process. This will help them to access support before it becomes too late. We have also standardised the debt management period to eight weeks from the course start date. After eight weeks, we will need to withdraw a student from their course, if their tuition fees are still outstanding.
It is important that you pay your tuition fees on time. If you are struggling to do so, please get in touch with us as soon as possible by contacting AskBU or the Finance team. Failure to pay your fees can impact your ability to continue with your studies at BU.
You can find our Fees Policy on the important information webpage.
