Today (Monday 13 February) is World Radio Day. Globally, radio remains the most popular medium and offers a tremendous opportunity to reach diverse audiences.
To celebrate the occasion, students studying the Writing for the Media unit in BA (Hons) Communication and Media and BA (Hons) English embraced an extra-curricular opportunity offered by Dr Gloria Khamkar, Senior Lecturer in Journalism, to explore people’s memories of radio shows.
Students studying this unit recorded audio interviews with BU students and staff about their earliest radio memories. Anyone not available for an interview was able to submit an audio recording of their own. The stories captured by the students were compiled into a radio programme format, which will be shared on Nerve Radio today between 4pm and 5pm.
Why not get involved in World Radio Day today by tuning in to enjoy students’ and staff members’ memories of the radio programmes from their youth?
