Georgia Fearnley, the creator of Bosh, an innovative "Air BnB for item rental" platform, was one of the lucky recipients of the Eco Entrepreneurs Fund in 2022. With the aim of reducing consumption and its impact on the planet, Bosh connects individuals to share and hire items and equipment.
“The Eco Entrepreneur scheme introduced us to a wide range of other people who were doing fantastic things to develop new ideas and businesses,” said Georgia. “We are still in touch with a lot of the people we met last year and it is great to see how their businesses have developed. It is very motivating.
“The funding that we won was spent on getting the website up and running. We are still developing the site but to have something live is a great boost for the project. We also used some of the funds to ensure we were legally compliant.
“When you are a start-up business like us it is very difficult to get investors on board - so to have someone say that they wanted to invest some money in our business through the Eco Entrepreneurs Fund was a real boost for us.”
Georgia said she would definitely recommend anyone with a new business idea to consider going in to the process.
She said: “It offers a brilliant opportunity for young entrepreneurs whatever stage they are at with their businesses. The community that it creates is superb and to be a part of that is a real privilege.”
