The Met Office has announced an Amber weather warning for tomorrow, Friday, lessening to a yellow warning for the weekend for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole region. This is for extremely strong winds due to Storm Eunice.
Based on the current information, both Lansdowne and Talbot campuses, along with our Portsmouth site, will remain open for teaching as usual, so please come to campus for any face-to-face activity as scheduled, unless you are specifically told otherwise.
Public transport, including the UNIBUS network, is due to run tomorrow as per the published schedules, but please check for travel updates for your area via your local media channels before leaving home and always follow local police travel advice. Please take extra care when travelling to and from the university and while on campus. If you are based at the Yeovil campus, the weather warning for this area has been graded as red and, with no scheduled teaching taking place on site tomorrow, the Yeovil campus will close for the day.
The Major Incident Group (MIG) will meet again tomorrow morning and will issue any further update by 7.30am, so please check your email before travelling to campus. If we need to, we will also post updates on Twitter, Facebook and the BU website. You can also check the BU information line - 01202 968999 - for recorded updates. Please check at least one of these communication channels before setting off in the event of adverse weather.
Please also refer to the Adverse Weather Policy for further details of how adverse weather is managed.
