Bournemouth University's (BU) publishing press, Fresher, recently celebrated the launch of five collections of short stories and poetry with a launch party earlier this month.
Each anthology was curated from international entries to The Bournemouth Writing Prize (BWP) 2021 and was produced by students of BU's MA Creative Writing and Publishing.
At the event, guests were treated to readings of the winning entries to the BWP 2021 as selected by the judging panel, including Picador Commissioning Editor, Ansa Khan Khattak, and United Agents' literary agent, Sophie Scard. The winning short story, The Wake, and the winning poem, poetry 'n', are both featured in the anthology Waves of Change, which is now available from Amazon along with the other newly published books, Descent, Glean & Graft, Winding Roads and Eye Spy.
Editorial Director of Fresher Publishing, Emma Scattergood, said: “I'm so proud of our team… the MA Creative Writing and Publishing students really rose to the challenge and have produced five beautiful books that have already been warmly received by everyone who has bought them.”
The Bournemouth Writing Prize 2022 is open to all writers of poetry and short stories from around the world and entries close January 16 2022. For details on how to enter, please visit the Fresher Publishing website.
