Bournemouth University has risen 18 places in the THE Young University Rankings 2021.
BU is positioned 77th in the rankings, up from 95th last year, which highlight universities worldwide under 50 years old.
The rankings look at five main performance indicators; teaching, research (including volume, income and reputation), citations (as a measure of research influence), international outlook, and industry income (or knowledge transfer). The rankings compare these performance factors for established, young universities.
The rise places Bournemouth University second in the list of UK universities represented in the rankings.
Professor John Vinney, Vice-Chancellor of Bournemouth University, said, “I am delighted to see a rise in this year’s THE Young University Rankings and am so proud of all in the BU community who have worked hard for our continued success in these rankings through our education, research and practice and our work internationally.”
The rise comes after news that BU has also risen in the Complete University Guide 2022 rankings, to 68th place (a rise of 18 on the previous year).
