Around 40 BU alumni now living and working in Dorset got together over breakfast at Urban Garden this morning (18 September).
The networking event was the latest in a series of business breakfast events, organised by the BU Alumni Relations Team, to connect with locally based graduates.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet fellow alumni and BU staff, before hearing from Mark Cribbs, the founder and owner of the Urban Guild group of venues. Mark shared his own entrepreneurial story and offered insights into Bournemouth’s thriving hospitality sector.
The event was sponsored by Grapevine, a locally based provider of integrated IT and telecoms services which has a longstanding relationship with BU. Liam Toms, Marketing Manager at Grapevine, said: “These fantastic events, organised by the BU alumni association, are an important first step in building something bigger, which has the potential to be a thriving, connected community of BU graduates who have chosen to remain and work in Dorset. BU students, staff and graduates have played an integral part in Grapevine’s journey as a business - we were delighted to support this event and are keen to continue to contribute to the growth of a local alumni network.”
