The project to upgrade our network infrastructure is continuing across BU. We are updating our ageing hardware and improving the speed, reliability and security of the wired and wireless networks. It will not only support traditional PCs, smartphones and laptops but also the proliferation of devices known as the 'Internet of Things', covering such things as door locks, cameras, AV equipment, printers, people counters etc., all of which use the wired and wireless networks on a daily basis.
The migration to the new network will be taking place from now until the end of June 2019.
The next set of updates is due to take place on Saturday 27 April on the second to sixth floors (inclusive) in Poole House and on Sunday 28 April in Christchurch House.
There will be no connectivity in areas between 8am and 5pm on the dates stated. This will impact the ability to log in to BU systems, as well as telephony and other devices that try to connect to our network.
