Update - 7:00 Friday 1 February 2019
After assessing current conditions and local advice and alerts, Bournemouth University’s Talbot and Lansdowne campuses will remain open on Friday 1 February 2019.
Main building entrances and paths will be gritted and cleared as far as possible, where necessary, and it is recommended that sensible footwear is worn and staff, students and visitors take their own precautions when travelling.
Please continue to check for travel updates local to your area - often found through local media outlets - before leaving home and always follow police travel advice. We also recommend you plan ahead and leave more time for your journey.
If staff are unable to make it onto campus, please speak to your line manager in the first instance. BU’s extreme weather policy gives further details for staff.
Students are advised to keep an eye out for any changes to planned lectures, seminars and activity on campus. We have recently updated our extreme weather policy for students, and advice for if you are currently on placement can also be found here.
We will continue to monitor conditions and we will post updates on Twitter, Facebook, the BU website and student news pages, the staff intranet, Brightspace and by email to all students and staff if it becomes necessary due to the adverse weather.
You can also check the BU Information Line - 01202 968999 - for recorded updates.
