As part of BU’s requirements for fire safety and resilience of the IT infrastructure, work will be carried out to the Data Centres on both sites in the coming weeks. For health, safety and security reasons, buildings across Lansdowne and Talbot Campus, including the libraries, will be closed off to staff and students.
Lansdowne Campus power shutdown
The buildings below will be closed to during the following times over the weekend while IT services carry out checks:
- Bournemouth House: closed from 8pm Friday 29 June to 8am Monday 2 July (includes Bournemouth House Library)
- Royal London House: closed from 5.30pm Friday 29 June to 7.50am Monday 2 July
- Executive Business Centre: closed from 9pm Friday 29 June to 8am Monday 2 July
- Studland House: closed from 8pm Friday 29 June to 7am Monday 2 July
Please save all work and log out fully from their computers by 8pm on Friday 29 June. Facilities are available over the weekend in the 24/7 Open Access Centre in Poole House on Talbot Campus.
Please note that all buildings at Talbot Campus will remain unaffected.
Talbot Campus power shutdown
The buildings below will be closed during the following times over the weekend while IT Services carry out checks:
- Weymouth House: closed from 10pm on Friday 13 July to 7am Monday 16 July (authorised Smartcard access only on Sunday 15 July from 8am)
- Christchurch House: closed from 10pm on Friday 13 July to 7am Monday 16 July
- Dorset House: closed from 10pm on Friday 13 July to 7am Monday 16 July
- The Sir Michael Cobham Library: closed from 8pm Friday 13 July to 8am Monday 16 July (Tower, with bookstock, closes at 6pm on Fridays)
- Talbot House: closed from last booked event on Friday 13 July to 8am Monday 16 July. Prayer room available on request at Poole House Reception on Sunday 15 July.
- Tolpuddle Annexes: closed from 10pm Friday 13 July to 7am Monday 16 July.
Please save all work and log out fully from their computers by 8pm on Friday 13 July.
Please note that the Fusion Building, Student Centre, Poole House and Kimmeridge House will remain unaffected.
