Back in October 2015 Bournemouth University (BU) offered the chance for one lucky prospective student to win a Premier League weekend in beautiful Bournemouth. The winner was Brooke Jarwood, a 17 year old from Hampshire who spent the 12th and 13th March in the premier resort.
Whilst in Bournemouth Brooke and her partner Billy had the chance to soak in the seven miles of golden sand, walk through the award-winning gardens, experience the buzz of a Premier League match and get a tantalising taste of what it’s like to be a student at BU.
Brooke and Billy stayed in the brand new Bournemouth University International College, which is located in the heart of the Lansdowne Campus allowing them easy access to the town centre and blue flag beach. Once they arrived they had the chance to stroll into town and indulge in a cup of coffee and a piece of cake from one of Bournemouth’s many cosmopolitan cafes.
Later on in the afternoon Brooke and Billy made their way to AFC Bournemouth to watch AFC Bournemouth v Swansea. There’s nothing like the excitement of a Premier League match and the atmosphere on Saturday 12th March was especially uplifting as AFC Bournemouth won 3-2 against Swansea. Bournemouth University is proud to be the official Higher Education Partner of Premier League AFC Bournemouth and work closely with the club.
As evening approached the couple enjoyed dinner at The Urban Reef, a relaxed bar, café, deli and restaurant located at the newly transformed Overstrand on Boscombe promenade. Committed to fresh, local & seasonal produce – Urban Reef always provides a pleasurable dining experience.
After a packed Premier League weekend in Bournemouth Brooke said she had “an amazing time, everything was so lovely! I cannot wait to start uni in Bournemouth in September”. And we can’t wait to welcome her!
