This Tuesday, Talk BU Live was back in Dylan's with a General Election special from David McQueen.
"An idiot's guide to the elections" introduced us the each of the main political parties who will be vying for our votes this May.
Stepping back in time to a royal beheading, the revolution and the very beginnings of the UK's constitutional parliament, David explained the origins of the main political parties. Aided by visuals, and with a few humorous digs at political failings and foibles, he went on to tell us how the values of these parties have developed and changed, sometimes dramatically, over time. Taking us from the original two party race of Whigs versus Tories to the the present day's confusing plethora of parties David explained why this particular election is going to be a weird one for all of us.
If you are confused about who's who or would just like to know a bit more about where each party is coming from then this talk is for you. You can now watch it, and previous Talk BU Live's, on BU's YouTube channel.
