The winners of an international competition which recognises innovative and interactive storytelling will be revealed at a Bournemouth University (BU) awards ceremony.
Now in its sixth year, the annual New Media Writing Prize showcases storytelling designed to be accessed through new media devices – with entries comprising anything from poems, films or computer animation, with audience interaction.
Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at BU on the evening of Wednesday 20 January, which is free to attend and open to all.
Three big names from the world of digital storytelling will be speaking at the event: Kate Pullinger, Andy Campbell, and Chris Joseph.
As well as their individual projects Kate, Andy and Chris all collaborated to create Inanimate Alice.
The awards ceremony takes place at Allsebrook Lecture Theatre, on BU’s Talbot Campus, from 6pm to 8.30pm – with a drinks reception and buffet to follow.
At the awards ceremony, the judges will be awarding prizes for:
Overall Winner - £1000, donated by if:book UK
The Best Student - a 3 month paid work-placement at top e-learning company, Unicorn Training, in Dorset, UK
The Dot Award: £500 to get a new project started, donated by if:book UK
