You will be taught by experienced researchers and practitioners of clinical psychology, health psychology, neuropsychology and forensic psychology ensuring that taught content is backed up by up-to-date research.
You will be taught how theory links directly to practice in the treatment of various psychological conditions and in organisational practice. We have established links with organisations and employers, such as the National Health Service, the police, the Shelley Park Neurocare Centre and charities, to ensure we deliver well-informed, current and timely content relating to practice. Learning is focused around how psychology can be used to help practice, based on a detailed understanding of theory.
Master's students research interests can also be pursued within the taught programme, working closely with a member of academic staff.
We have a wide range of laboratories for use by all our students and academics, including a virtual reality laboratory, mobile and static eye-tracking facilities, mobile and static EEG facilities, brain stimulation techniques (transcranial direct current stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation), crime scene training centre, new cognitive testing laboratories, and an observation suite.
You will also have the opportunity to pursue your research interests as part of our taught courses, working closely with a member of academic staff.
